DID YOU KNOW

  • Due to the country’s mountainous, rocky terrain, it is often referred to as the ‘Switzerland of Asia’.
  • The number ‘40’ holds significance in Kyrgyz culture. The name ‘Kyrgyz’ is thought to derive from a Turkic word meaning ‘forty’, and the nation’s flag showcases a 40-ray sun, nodding towards the significance of the number.
