Financial Year Dates
Morocco’s fiscal year aligns with the calendar year: 1 January to 31 December.
Minimum Wage
Private Sector: MAD 3,269 per month, or MAD 17.10 per hour.
Public Sector: MAD 4,500 per month.
Agricultural Sector: MAD 2,418 per month, or MAD 93 per day.
Standard working hours
Standard workweek: 44 hours, typically over 5 days.
Overtime
Compensated at 125% of base hourly wage for the first 2 hours and 150% thereafter.
Holiday Allowance
Employees are entitled to a minimum of 18 working days of paid annual leave per year.
Sick Leave
Employees are entitled to 100% of salary for the first 28 days of illness, provided they are registered with social security.
Maternity & Paternity Leave
Maternity leave: 14 weeks (6 weeks before, 8 weeks after childbirth) at 100% salary.
Paternity leave: 3 days, typically taken within 2 months of childbirth.

Health Care
Morocco has a mixed public-private healthcare system. Public hospitals and clinics provide primary and specialized care. All registered employees are entitled to healthcare coverage through social security.

13th salary?
Morocco does not have a statutory 13th-month salary. However, 13th-month bonuses are common in certain sectors, often negotiated individually or via collective agreements.
