Financial Year Dates
Fiji’s financial year runs from 1st August to 31st July the next calendar year.
Minimum Wage
The minimum wage in Fiji is $5.00 per hour, effective April 1 2025.
Standard Working Hours
The standard hours of work must not exceed 48 hours per week for those working 6 days a week or 45 hours per week for those working 5 days a week.
Overtime
Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate.
Holiday Allowance
Employees are entitled to a minimum of 10 working days of paid annual leave per year, in addition to public holidays.
Sick Leave
Employees are entitled to 10 days of paid sick leave per year.
Maternity & Paternity Leave
A woman is entitled to 98 consecutive days of maternity leave, and a man whose partner is on maternity leave can take 5 working days of paternity leave.

Social Contributions
In Fiji, social contributions are primarily managed through the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) and the Social Responsibility Tax (SRT). For FNPF, the contribution rate is 18%, with employers contributing 10% and employees (members) contributing 8%.
Income Tax
For Resident employees the current tax rates applicable on any excess income above FJ$30,000 are 18% and 20%.

Fiji’s healthcare system is a mix of public and private facilities, with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) providing the majority of services through a network of hospitals, health centers, and nursing stations.

Foreign nationals require a work visa to be employed in Fiji, typically valid for up to 2 years and renewable.
Business Visa
Entrepreneurs and investors can apply for a business visa to establish or manage a business in Fiji.
Temporary Residence Visa
Available for individuals wishing to reside in Fiji for up to 2 years.
Family Reunification Visa
Allows family members of foreign nationals working in Fiji to join them, subject to requirements
